How the event started

When Melissa contacted us about catering an engagement party, we began the same way we do with most event inquiries: by asking for the venue and the estimated guest count. Once we learned the celebration would take place at Halifax Hoboken with around 100 guests, we put together two catering options based on the size of the party and the amount of gelato needed.

Choosing the right catering option

They decided to go with an 8-tub setup, which gave their guests a wide variety of flavors to choose from throughout the event. The final lineup included two tubs of milk chocolate, plus peanut butter, lemon sorbet, lychee sorbet, strawberry, ube, and vanilla.

It was a great balance of familiar favorites and more distinctive flavors. Our milk chocolate is mellow and crowd-friendly, made with Belgian chocolate and Dutch-processed cocoa for sweetness and depth. Vanilla is one of our most versatile flavors, with a sweet aroma from our blend of bourbon and Tahitian extracts along with carefully extracted vanilla beans. Peanut butter added richness and texture, while strawberry brought a bright, ripe fruit flavor that always works well at celebrations.

Vegan-friendly sorbet options

The menu also included a few flavors that gave guests something a little more unexpected. Ube, made from purple yam popular in the Philippines, stood out for both its color and its dessert appeal. Lychee sorbet added a floral, tropical note, while lemon sorbet brought a refreshing tartness from fresh lemon juice and fine zest.

The sorbets were especially useful during service, too. When guests asked for vegan options, we had them ready. That made it easy to accommodate different preferences without needing a separate setup, and it helped make sure everyone had something they could enjoy.
