When you plan a gelato catering menu, dietary questions often come up alongside flavor choices. This page explains how we approach dairy-free sorbets, gluten considerations, sugar content, and egg ingredients for catered events. It is a planning guide—not a substitute for reviewing your specific menu before an event.
For catered events, dairy-free menu options are fruit sorbets. Sorbets are made without dairy ingredients and are typically prepared with fruit, water, and cane sugar, which makes them suitable for guests who avoid dairy or follow a vegan diet.
Sorbet availability varies by season and by the event menu being built. Examples that have appeared on recent catering menus include Mango Sorbet, Raspberry Sorbet, Lemon Sorbet, and Lemon Ginger Sorbet. Not every sorbet is available for every event, and the selection shared with you may change as production schedules and ingredient availability shift.
When planning catering, we provide a current selection list so you can choose options appropriate for your guests. Final sorbet and gelato selections should be confirmed before the event.
Many gelato and sorbet flavors are made without gluten-containing ingredients, but some flavors contain cookies, cake, beer, spirits, or other ingredients that may contain gluten. Cross-contact is possible during production, transport, setup, and service.
The following flavors may contain gluten:
Spirit-based flavors can be difficult to evaluate because producers do not always publish full ingredient details. If gluten is a serious concern for anyone at your event, share that when planning the menu so we can review selections together before service.
We do not currently offer sugar-free gelato or sugar-free sorbet.
Our gelato and sorbet recipes are made with cane sugar. Fruit sorbets also contain the natural sugars present in the fruit used in each recipe. None of our flavors are marketed as low-sugar products, and we do not use calorie-free sweeteners in these recipes.
If sugar content is a planning concern for your event, tell us when requesting a proposal so we can discuss menu choices in context.
Many gelato flavors are made without eggs, but some flavors contain eggs or egg-based ingredients. Examples include:
Guests with egg concerns should ask before finalizing the catering menu. We can review proposed flavors together so you understand which selections fit your event.
Gelato is generally churned with less incorporated air and served with a dense, smooth texture. Recipes vary by flavor, but gelato is known for concentrated flavor and creamy consistency.
American-style ice cream often incorporates more air during churning and may use a different balance of milk, cream, and sweeteners depending on the recipe. For catering, the practical difference is usually texture and intensity of flavor rather than a single ingredient rule that applies to every flavor on the menu.
For catering service, separate scoopers are used for each flavor, and staff follow careful serving procedures at the cart.
Guests with severe allergies or dietary restrictions should notify us before the event. We can review the selected menu in advance, but we do not promise an allergen-free environment.
For catered events, we can help build a menu that includes classic gelato flavors plus at least one dairy-free sorbet option, based on your guest count, season, and service needs.
